Program Goals and Modalities
Empower’s counseling program includes many facets of a person’s being in which counseling and therapy may assist a person and family in achieving goals of wellness and/or recovery.
Evidence-based behavior and/or cognitive therapy approaches represent the foundation of our counselors’ services. Following an assessment and collaborative development of goals with the individual, sessions will typically occur one to two times per week in an interactive and dynamic environment. Treatment will vary in the level of frequency and intensity based upon the individual’s needs, and is provided in coordination with other services the person may be involved in.
Our counselors provide comprehensive, individualized treatment for adults, adolescents and children that are built around a person-centered plan. Through interaction with persons served, our counselors focus on empowering our community to bring about outcomes of improved quality of life and functioning.
Referrals for counseling may be made directly by a psychologist, psychiatrist and/or a physician, service coordinators, schools, family, courts, licensed professionals, therapists, emergency service agencies, state departments, hospitals, and other professionals.
